A Closer Look at z/OS.e

Mainframe hardware is expensive. Mainframe software is even more expensive. This may be okay for mainframe users with legacy workloads, because these big iron shops are adept at squeezing the last drop of performance out of their systems. But what happens when a mainframe shop wants to try something different, like bringing up an Internet type of application? They get killed, that's what. Helpful sales reps from other vendors are happy to point this out to their bosses. So IBM has no choice but to give these users a price break.
