IBM Begins System z9 S54 Shipments a Little Early

It's not every day that a server maker gets a product out a little early, but let's just say that both IBM and some of its biggest mainframe customers are motivated to get the high-end System z9 S54 servers to market. IBM, of course, wants to book as much revenue as possible for the System z9s this year, and customers who have been mulling big server consolidation projects on mainframes want to spend their money from the 2005 budget as well.
