(IT Jungle) To keep customers buying ahead of the upcoming iSeries product launch, IBM cut prices on base configurations of Model 810 iSeries servers by between 9 and 35 percent. It also cut list prices on the base configurations of Model 870 and Model 890 machines, as well as reducing prices for main memory and disk drives. But there's a few other twists in this story. (CNET News.com) IBM said that it will release a new version of its SAN Volume Controller software for pooling storing devices together in a process called "virtualization."
