Bsafe Enterprise Security 4.0 to Ship January 15

A new version of Bsafe Information Systems OS/400 security software suite will begin shipping January 15, the company announced last week. Bsafe Enterprise Security version 4.0 will replace the company's previous OS/400 security product, Bsafe/Global Security version 3.6, and will feature a number of enhancements, including support for securing Linux servers, an overhauled Windows-based GUI management console, support for managing multiple iSeries or Linux systems from a central console, a new "account swapping" functionality for quickly generating new user profiles by cloning existing user profiles, and a new "role management" module.

Bsafe Enterprise Security 4.0 has been in managed availability since October, and was originally slated to ship in early November (see "Bsafe Steps Forward with New OS/400 Security Tools, Partners").
