Oracle Pledges Support for World ERP System
by Alex Woodie

Thousands of companies that rely on the World ERP system can breathe a little easier now that Oracle has pledged to support and enhance it. by Alex Woodie

Sometimes the actions of users can have unintended consequences, like that seemingly innocent query that Jane in accounting set off this morning, which is now threatening to bring down the system. Available in the U.S. as well as Europe, the 13-part i-effect suite is made up of products the company previously sold under different names, and which address many aspects of day-to-day iSeries operations, such as converting spool files to more popular formats or freeing up disk space by compressing archives. Inovis Unveils Unified E-Business Product Line
by Alex Woodie

When Inovis bought IP Net Solutions, in 2003, it was viewed as a good acquisition--and it was. With its roots in the old Harbinger company, Inovis had its strength in traditional EDI translation, while IPNet Solutions complemented that with software that helps move EDI messages securely over new IP pipes. Correction

The article "LTO 3 Tape Makes Its Way to Market" has been corrected. The original specs provided for Quantum's SDLT drive were for compressed data, not its native capability. IT Jungle regrets the error. [Correction made 12/16/04].
