RF-Smart Gets JD Edwards Validation

ICS, the developers of RF-Smart, have received validation from Oracle that the RF-Smart interface to JD Edwards World A9.1 works as advertised, opening the way to greater adoption.

RF-SMART hooks up automated data collection (ADC) devices, such as barcode readers and radio frequency identification (RFID) scanners, to JD Edwards World. Users who interact with RF-Smart, such as warehouse workers or route drivers, are greeted with an interface that looks very much like a 5250 World interface because ICS developed RF-Smart to look like World, right down to JD Edwards shortcuts, naming standards, and data dictionary.

That close integration between RF-Smart and the latest release of World, A9.1, enabled ICS to obtain verification from the Oracle Partner Network that the products work well together.

Denise Grills, Oracle senior director of JD Edwards World product strategy, says the company is pleased with ICS' 27-year commitment to JD Edwards. "We value our relationship with the RF-SMART team and the many benefits we’re able to provide our joint customers," she says.

ICS also develops versions of RF-Smart that support EnterpriseOne and Microsoft Dynamics AX. RF-SMART was also recently validated for JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 8.12.

ICS is a developer of ADC, mobile computing, and ERP software that's based in Jacksonville, Florida. It is not to be confused with Integrated Custom Software (ICS), the Connecticut-based developers of FormSprint, nor Independent Computer Services (ICS), the IBM i consultancy that won the PHP development award from Zend back in 2007.)
