SOA Software Joins SAP's 'ES Community'

Published: January 16, 2007

by Alex Woodie

Service oriented architecture (SOA) software developer SOA Software made big gains in the SAP ecosystem this week when it announced its products has been certified by SAP, that it has joined the software giant's partner program, and that it will participate in SAP's Enterprise Services Community.

SAP launched the Enterprise Services Community in April 2006 to address some of the business and technical challenges in building multi-vendor SOA environments. The group set out with intentions to use SOA in three specific uses--the banking industry, radio frequency identification (RFID), and geospatial information systems. Since then, it has scoped out specific ways SOA techniques can be used to integrate SAP and ISV solutions, and has attracted more than 150 SAP users and ISVs to help build and implement them.

Now, SOA Software is one of the companies helping SAP implement Web services and SOA into their products. "SOA Software and SAP share a common vision for enterprise SOA," says Roberto Medrano, executive vice president of SOA Software. "SAP's strategy is powerful and compelling, and we are committed to working together as a member of the ES Community to provide value-added solutions and services that accelerate this breakthrough architecture's adoption."

SOA Software's Network Director version 3.5 has also achieved "Powered by SAP NetWeaver" status. The company also expects its Service Manager product to be used as part of an SOA roll-out.
