Users of Vormittag Associates' OS/400-based System 2000 ERP software have a new option for business intelligence from New Generation Software called System 2000 Express, which New Generation Software unveiled last week.

System 2000 Express is a real-time reporting and analysis tool that includes NGS-IQ, New Gen's flagship suite of ad hoc query, report writing, and OLAP applications, in addition to a collection of pre-canned reports and sample business performance dashboards built directly over the System 2000 production database, New Gen says.

The offering brings System 2000 users immediate access to two sample dashboards, including a sales forecasting dashboard with "what-if" support and a customers-by-state dashboard, and several reports, including customer group by product, gross revenue growth trend, sales by customer class, customer items by territory, inventory detail inquiry, order detail inquiry, and sales detail inquiry. The reports are viewable in various formats, including PDF, HTML, and Excel, through any Web browser.

In addition to its new entry-level System 2000 Express offering, New Gen offers two other solutions for Vormittag customers, including System 2000 Business Performance Solution, which includes everything in the Express solution, along with the capability to customize and create new business performance dashboards; and an Enterprise offering, which adds New Gen's IQ SeQure security management system and its Decision Assist software, a pre-defined data warehouse for the iSeries that also includes more than 60 ready-to-run reports.
