Home World Hypermarket, a fast-growing chain of giant retail outlets in northern China that Forbes has compared to Wal-Mart, has high hopes for its new E3 replenishment optimization offering, which it recently licensed from JDA Software. The company, which already uses JDA's OS/400-based Merchandise Management System-I, among other JDA offerings, sees the Windows-based Portfolio Replenishment Optimization by E3--or E3 PRO--software as a key to improving its financial footing.
"I've experienced first hand the high ROI that JDA's solutions have delivered to other retailers," said Erick Haskell, chief financial officer for Home World, and one of several westerners the company has hired in preparation for an upcoming IPO on the Hong Kong exchange. "We need to get excess inventory out of the stores to recover working capital that will support our growth plans of 35 percent a year."
