Remain Teams with Original to Combine Testing and Change Management

Published: February 3, 2009

by Alex Woodie

Software test specialists Original Software and Remain Software, a Dutch developer of change management software for the System i server, have teamed up to sell their products as an integrated solution, the companies announced last week.

From its headquarters in Nieuwegein, The Netherlands, Remain Software develops the TD/OMS (Object Management System), a suite of change management software for i OS, Windows, and Unix operating systems. The company's application lifecycle management (ALM) software is used by some of Europe's biggest System i shops, including Heineken, Carlson Wagonlit Travel, and the Interpolis insurance company.

As part of the deal, Original's suite of testing software will be incorporated into Remain's TD/OMS change management suite, which will allow customers to more easily traverse the ALM sequence, from development to test to user acceptance and, finally, production. Remain will also become a distributor for Original in the Benelux region of Europe.

"We are exited about this partnership," says Marco Kok, Remain's director of sales and marketing. "Our companies have the same ideas about adoption, implementation, and the productivity of our solutions . . . We will be able to offer high quality support for the total software life cycle process."

George Wilson, operations director for Original Software, says the combination of the company's products will enable enterprises to adopt best practice for IT projects. "By integrating our testing solutions both companies will open new opportunities in the market place, benefiting users with a state-of-the art ALM solution for the IBM System i," Wilson says.

The combined solution will also be available in Australia from Valok Global Midrange Solutions and in Argentina via Hista. Valok is a business partner with Original and Remain, while Hista has expertise in Original's products.
