English Food Maker Benefits from Geac Reporting Tool

Published: February 7, 2006

G.Costa, a English food manufacturer famous for its Blue Dragon sauces, is close to installing the Performance Analyser from Geac to improve the distribution of reports from its OS/400-based System21 implementation, Geac announced last month.

When Performance Analyser is fully implemented in April, all G.Costa managers will enjoy browser-based access to data, which will release the company's IT and finance department from the burden of generating reports, and get the latest, greatest data into the hands of decision makers.

"To date, I have spent around two days a week merely generating reports for our sales and marketing managers," says Dale Coveney, commercial finance manager for the food manufacturer. "Once we're live on Performance Analyser, they will have ready access to detailed pre-formatted reports themselves." Previously, Coveney was spending 40 percent of his time producing reports for managers.

Phase one of the deployment involves rolling out the software to sales managers this month. Phase two will involve demonstrating Performance Analyser to other areas of the business to identify their precise reporting needs. In the end, Performance Analyser is expected to provide advanced analytical capabilities on profitability by product, category, customer, and salesman, which will give the company a great deal of control over margin performance across its entire business.
