Interlink Technologies this quarter is expected to begin shipping TMS-LINK, a new transportation management system that was designed in Microsoft Visual Studio, and which is intended to run on a Windows application server and an OS/400 database server.
TMS-LINK provides transportation companies with real-time information about carriers, stores, routes, loads, and grouping of store routes (loads) for volume production and fulfillment, according to Interlink. The use of an OS/400 database server in TMS-LINK is crucial for integrating with Interlink's flagship product, the OS/400-based WHSe-Link warehouse management system.
"We're especially pleased that the Microsoft Visual Studio technology has greatly enhanced the look and feel of this product, and increased productivity of our development team," says Tim Granatir, vice president of technical services for the Maumee, Ohio, company. "The next generation TMS-LINK was developed with Microsoft Visual Studio and the iSeries database server to fully integrate with our WMS (warehouse management system), WHSe-LINK."
