Attunity Signs OEM Deal with Microsoft for SSIS

Attunity has another OEM deal with Microsoft to supply data connectivity software for the next version of SQL Server. This second OEM deal involves Attunity's ODBC connector, which will be used to supply SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and cloud applications with data from virtually any data source.

Burlington, Massachusetts-based Attunity has been lauded by IBM i shops for its real-time data integration software, and particularly the speed at which its log-based, change data capture (CDC) technology can detect and replicate changes as they occur in DB2/400. The software often augments extract, transform, and load (ETL) tools for the purpose of building Oracle-, SQL Server-, and Teradata-based data warehouses or reporting systems from heterogeneous source data such as DB2 LUW, DB2 on zSeries, VSAM, IMS, Adabas, RMS, Enscribe, and SQL/MP.

In the case of the new OEM deal with Microsoft, Attunity will be providing its generic Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) driver technology for the next generation of SQL Server and the SSIS business intelligence platform. Attunity provides 32-bit and 64-bit generic ODBC drivers for Windows, Unix, and Linux platforms, which can access data from many different data sources.

"This additional OEM agreement extends the scope of our partnership to heterogeneous data connectivity in addition to the recently announced OEM agreement for Change Data Capture (CDC), solidifying our position as a strategic partner for Microsoft in enabling heterogeneous and real-time data integration," says Shimon Alon, Attunity's chairman and CEO.

The new OEM deal has a term of five years, and should bring Attunity $1.9 million, according to a filing Attunity made with the Securities and Exchange Commission. The first OEM deal with Microsoft involving CDC and Oracle databases, which Attunity announced in late December, also has a five-year term, and is expected to bring Attunity $7 million.

Attunity, which is traded on the Over The Counter Bulletin Board penny stock exchange, also announced its year-end results last week. For fiscal 2010, Attunity had total revenues of $10.1 million, a 7 percent increase compared to fiscal 2009. The company reported a net loss of $1.5 million, up from $1.3 million in 2009. Its stock is up almost 130 percent over the last six months, and trades around $.70 per share.
