Bytware is now shipping the version 5.6 release of its Messenger products, a collection of systems management tools that monitor various OS/400 queues and take corrective action or page the system administrator when something on the iSeries server is out of whack.
With the version 5.6 releases of MessengerPlus and MessengerConsole--a multi-server version of MessengerPlus used for centralizing the monitoring and control for multiple iSeries servers--the Reno, Nevada, company has added a new capability to monitor the disk utilization of iSeries systems. This release also adds support for automatic updating, which helps ensure that users have the latest features and fixes available for the product.
Bytware initially announced version 5.6 last fall (see "Bytware Adds Disk Monitoring to MessengerPlus"). The products are just now shipping, the company says. Pricing starts at $3,000 for a single server license.
