WIS:DOM Hooks Up with ACOM

Published: March 3, 2009

by Alex Woodie

WIS:DOM Information Systems, a Nevada-based developer of warehouse and transportation management systems for the System i, has joined the ACOM Solutions reseller program and will soon offer ACOM's document management software as an integrated option alongside its own products, the companies announced last week.

WIS:DOM Information Systems has been developing logistics software for distributors for the last 30 years. Over that period, the company's WIS:DOM suite, which was developed in LANSA, has evolved to give customers the option of green-screen or Web interfaces.

Now, as a result of the partnership with ACOM, WIS:DOM Information Systems is looking to give its customers the option of reducing their reliance on paper and printed forms, according to WIS:DOM Information Systems president and founder Matthew Booher.

"Our affiliation with ACOM will enable us to improve our document production, handling, and distribution capabilities, streamlining not only internal processes but also the delivery of such documents by e-mail and fax as well as on the Web," he says. "The objective is to enable third-party logistics and transportation providers to provide enhanced service capabilities to their clientele."

WIS:DOM Information Systems has already been named a member of ACOM's valued added reseller (VAR) program, giving it the right to distribute ACOM products, including ezContentManager and others. In the months ahead, the WIS:DOM WMS and TMS packages will be integrated with ezContentManager, making it easier for customers to use the document management functionality.

The integration will be an option for WIS:DOM customers. But Booher doesn't see any customers turning the option down. "Going forward, there will be no WIS:DOM systems sold without ACOM components integrated," he says.
