Java reporting tool maker Jinfonet Software and Composite Software, a developer of Java-based ETL data integration tools, yesterday unveiled a new partnership that combines the two companies' products into a single Java-based reporting solution.
Called Jinfonet OnDemand Integration, the new offering combines Jinfonet's JReport software with the Composite Integration Server (CIS) to create a new solution that the companies say gives users direct and real-time visibility into data sitting across a variety of platforms. The integration of the products has been tested, and is available now from either of the vendors.
Jinfonet's JReport software provides a Java-based alterative to products like Crystal Reports, and will provide the analytics capabilities to data provided by Composite. CIS, on the other hand, will sit atop the data sources, and create a sort of "virtualized database" that can extract and normalize data sitting across a range of structured and unstructured data stores, including relational databases systems, XML, Excel spreadsheets, flat files, and Web services.
Jinfonet OnDemand Integration answers organizations' demands for immediate access to data that provides an accurate portrayal of current business conditions, says John Gularson, executive vice president for Jinfonet. "Data is no longer confined to single applications--it spans applications and can be used across organizations to allow for strong business decision-making," Gularson says. "The ability to easily report on information from wherever it exists throughout the enterprise is revolutionary."
