Skyway Software last week unveiled a scaled down Developer Edition of its Skyway SOA Platform, a Java-based application modernization suite designed to transform OS/400 and mainframe green screens into graphical user interfaces or deliver them as Web services in a services-orientated architecture (SOA).
The new Developer Edition comes with five seats and is suited for small development shops or larger organizations that need a way to test their new applications. The Skyway SOA Platform is also available in an Enterprise Edition that comes with an unlimited number of seats.
Users of the Developer Edition are entitled to support from Skyway's professional services staff, as well as unlimited access to online forums. Organizations with immediate tactical needs may also choose to license the Developer Edition as a monthly subscription via the Skyway SOA Starter Pack.
"The Developer Edition of the Skyway SOA Platform is in direct response to customer input and is a great way for companies to kick-start an SOA strategy with test projects," says David Precopio, vice president of product management and marketing at Skyway Software, which is based in Tampa, Florida.
