by Alex Woodie

Oracle this week unveiled J.D. Edwards EnterpriseOne version 8.12, a new release of its midmarket ERP suite for OS/400, Windows, and Unix servers. This release brings several enhancements, including new functionality in supply chain management, CRM, human resources, and bid management, and three new modules for farmers and food and beverage companies. Some of the underlying technological plumbing has also been reworked in XML, which should make it easier for customers to migrate to Oracle's next-generation ERP platform, called Fusion. READ MORE >

by Alex Woodie

OS/400 and i5/OS shops on the hunt for an output management product for their AS/400, iSeries, and System/5 servers may want to check out LBM Systems. Earlier this month the Connecticut company that hails from the Hewlett-Packard printing world unveiled AXIAR 6.0, a new release of its multi-platform print server and document management product that now supports iSeries servers, via PASE. The company says it added iSeries support to quell its customers' resistance to implementing "foreign operating systems." READ MORE >

Ohio Data Offers Rental Option for iSeries Telephony
by Alex Woodie

Ohio Data Transfer on Sunday will introduce a new rent-to-own program for its DTT1000 voice response unit (VRU), which is used to access data and applications on OS/400 servers from standard telephones.
