Tango/04 Updates Products for OS/400 V5R4

You can add one more name to the list of vendors supporting IBM OS/400 (i5/OS) V5R4: Tango/04 Computing Group. The Spanish developer of systems management and security software for OS/400 and Windows servers last week announced full support for V5R4 across all of its products.

Tango/04 develops a range of products for the iSeries, including its flagship VISUAL Message Center, which functions as a control center for real-time management of the boxes; the VISUAL Security Suite, which provides exit-point security and auditing capabilities; the Data Monitor for iSeries product, a record-level database auditing solution for helping companies comply with regulations like the Sarbanes-Oxley Act and HIPAA; and the VISUAL Control Center, which is used to monitor and enhance service levels.

While the company has been no slouch when it comes to giving customers new capabilities and keeping its products current, V5R4 support means more than just a stamp of approval, according to Raul Cristian Aguirre, president and CEO of the Tango/04, which recently opened a new office in Peterborough, New Hampshire.

"We are not talking about mere compatibility," Aguirre says. "We have seized this opportunity to improve the performance and usability of our solutions by taking advantage of the new features available in V5R4, including improvements in the database engine, networking enhancements, and general performance and security improvements. We have a strong commitment to the System i and we intend to lead the corporate monitoring arena with continuous investment and innovation."
