  • Datawatch Updates Data Integration Tool for Monarch BI Suite

    May 4, 2010 Alex Woodie

Datawatch last week unveiled a new release of Monarch Data Pump Pro, an enterprise data integration tool designed to work with the company’s flagship data mining and business intelligence tool. With version 10.5, the company has added several new capabilities designed to help customers in high-volume production settings, including Web services integration, better tracing and logging, and a new Web browser management console.

Datawatch is a different sort of business intelligence software company. Instead of building an information infrastructure from scratch, the company’s tools are designed to mine existing reports to ascertain relevant information. The company’s patented technology can then re-create the data relationships, enabling customers to access important information without the burden or expense of programming and building a data mart.

Monarch Data Pump is a companion product to Monarch BI Server, and provides extract, transform, and load (ETL) capabilities for parsing through structured data sources like relational databases and Excel spreadsheets and unstructured ones PDF reports. The product also distributes the data as Excel spreadsheets or reports. Many of Datawatch’s customers use the software to pull meaning out of old AS/400 reports.

With Monarch Data Pump Pro version 10.5, Datawatch has added the capability to create and export Excel spreadsheets that contain a copy of the original report source of the data. This feature was added to make it easier for customers to verify the original source of data, which is important for ensuring the integrity of the data. This release also gains support for digital signatures, further boosting customers’ data integrity. Support for Microsoft Windows 7 was also added with this release.

“Monarch Data Pump version 10.5 Pro gives customers powerful, programming-free business intelligence at a fraction of the cost, time and complexity of alternative solutions,” states John Kitchen, senior vice president and chief marketing officer for the Chelmsford, Massachusetts, company. “With this new version, we can help customers take on the toughest challenges in high-volume ETL and information delivery.”

Compared to the Standard edition of the product, the Pro edition can run on computers with up to 32 CPUs. It also supports Web services and SQL Server Information Services (SSIS) and can be managed remotely from a Web browser.
