Door Manufacturer Consolidates Data Processing with VAI

Published: May 5, 2009

by Alex Woodie

Lynden Door and its sister company, Alliance Door Products, have tapped VAI for an upgraded suite of ERP products, the software vendor announced last week. The implementation of S2K Enterprise 5.0 has enabled the company to consolidate the IT services from several locations onto a single System i server running S2K.

Based in Lynden, Washington, Lynden Door is a small company that has developed a reputation for manufacturing premium residential, commercial, and architectural flush wood doors. The company's products are distributed through Alliance Door Products, which operates several wholesale distribution sites and warehouses throughout the Pacific Northwest.

The company has been a VAI customer for several years and jumped at the chance to be a beta test site for S2K 5.0, which became generally available last fall. One of the core benefits the company found with S2K 5.0 was the capability to consolidate processing for several Lynden Door and Alliance Door Products onto a single implementation of the software.

The consolidation of its ERP system provides instantaneous visibility into its operations and finances across all seven locations, says Cory Lutton, Lynden Door's corporate IT manager.

"Our staff and managers are able to track inventory through the production process in real time--a significant advantage in our line of work, since products need to be shipped correctly and on time," Lutton states in a press release. "VAI's S2K 5.0 software is, and will continue to be, a major asset in the success of our business."
