BOSaNOVA Unveils a 10-Inch Wireless Tablet

Published: May 8, 2007

by Alex Woodie

BOSaNOVA rolled out a new edition to its spectrum of thin client offerings last week at the COMMON conference in Anaheim, California. The new 310XP BOStablet features a 10-inch TFT touch-screen display and is designed to excel in areas where its 8-inch tablet failed to impress.

With a screen resolution of 1024x768, BOSaNOVA's new 310XP BOStablet will allow people to view details that they just couldn't see with the tablets with 8-inch displays, including BOSaNOVA's 8375 and 8368 Wireless Tablets, which have been available for three years. Screen resolution is particularly critical in the healthcare industry, where doctors and nurses make life-changing decisions based on X-Rays.

"It's pretty much a showstopper if you don't have it," says Martin Pladgeman, president of BOSaNOVA, of the screen resolution required by the healthcare industry. "There' a void in the market for a tablet thin client that can support 1024x768 resolution. We're happy that we can fill this void with the 310XP."

The 310XP BOStablet runs an embedded version of Microsoft Windows XP and a full array of office applications, including 5250 and 3270 emulators, Office viewers, RCA, and ICA. The device is powered by an 800 Mhz AMD processor, features a ruggedized case, a built-in biometric sensor, and hot swap batteries.
