Cybra Finally Ships MarkMagic 6

Published: May 15, 2007

by Alex Woodie

Cybra is now shipping MarkMagic 6, the latest release of its software for creating barcodes and radio frequency identification (RFID) tags from i5/OS data and i5/OS servers, the company announced yesterday. The new release features better support for RFID and fax.

Cybra first announced its MarkMagic 6 software nearly eight months ago at the COMMON conference in Miami Beach, Florida.

Among the new features is better support for RFID, an optional rule-based print manager, a new administration menu designed to boost security over MarkMagic operations, support for fax with the PDF e-mail option, support for the latest Paxar-Monarch handheld label printer, and a new release of the JMagic client-side design tool that features improved menus, new bar code field control, and a new "lasso" tool that should make it easier for users to move items on the screen.

MarkMagic isn't the only product we have been waiting for from the Yonkers, New York, company. Last month, CYBRA announced a new product called EdgeMagic, an edge server solution designed to tie together various elements of RFID-based business processes. The product is due out this summer.
