Jacada Rounds Out Integration Suite with Client/Server Offering

Jacada today introduced WinFuse, a new integration tool for exposing as Web services the data and processes housed in Windows-based client/server applications. The company, which spent three years developing the software, says WinFuse is the first product of its kind to provide message-level integration for a large swath of the sprawling collection of legacy Windows applications in use for which there are no clean APIs or other good integration points. Business Computer Design Int'l has completed the latest round of development on its triad of OS/400 Web products--the WebSmart application server, the Nexus portal, and the Catapult spool file distribution system--which it sells as the integrated Web Deployment Bundle. A new archive component, the Web Object Warehouse, or simply WOW, lets users search for and retrieve reports and other documents, while the new MyiSeriesGreenScreens portlet gives users secure Web-based access to third-party 5250 apps through Nexus. Correction

The article " 'On-Access' Virus Scanning to Debut with OS/400 V5R3" has been corrected since its original publication. While timestamps will be used to determine which files in OS/400 V5R3 (which is now called i5/OS V5R3) will be subject to "on access" virus scanning, i5/OS will use digital signatures to ensure that file properties, such as a stamp from the system clock, are not tampered with.
