Mercury Delivers Lifecycle Management Tools for SAP Environments

Mercury Interactive, a developer of lifecycle management tools, recently launched Business Availability Center version 6.1 for SAP, a collection of products designed to help customers implement a heterogeneous SAP environment as efficiently as possible. In particular, the new solution focuses on ensuring that Web services behave as expected.

Mercury Interactive is a SAP business partner, and has helped the German software giant in the area of application testing and performance analysis and modeling. With Business Availability Center version 6.1 for SAP, the Silicon Valley firm has delivered a version of its Business Availability Center product designed specifically for SAP environments, including integration with other applications using NetWeaver and SAP's Enterprise Service Architecture (ESA) framework.

The new offering includes or uses several existing Mercury products, including SAP LoadRunner, a Mercury product that SAP OEMs; Mercury Diagnostics, a part of the Business Availability Center; Mercury Application Change Lifecycle, a change management solution; and Mercury Application Mapping, which is used to cross-reference dependencies.

Business Availability Center for SAP combines these tools with hooks for R/3, NetWeaver, and ESA to streamline the deployment and on-going management of complicated SAP implementations in accordance with ITIL best practices. The software is available either as a service or as a shrink-wrapped product.
