Drummond Releases AS3 Test Results
Published: June 27, 2006
by Alex Woodie
The latest round of AS3 product interoperability testing has been completed by the Drummond Group, and as a result, seven AS3 communication tools--including some that run on OS/400--from six vendors have passed muster.
The Drummond Group runs periodic tests to ensure that vendors of communication tools are correctly implementing standards such as AS3, and to make sure that data sent using the standards isn't corrupted. AS3 is the draft specification standard for sending EDI documents over the Internet using File Transfer Protocol (FTP), while incorporating digital security and receipt validation. It hasn't found nearly the same response as AS2, which describes how to send EDI over HTTP.
Products that passed the AS3 second quarter 2006 interoperability test include Axway-Cyclone's XFB Gateway 6.9 for XIP 3.1 and Cyclone Interchange/Activator/Central 5.4 for XIP 3.1; Cleo Communications' VersaLex 3.0, as tested in VLTrader 3.0; Inovis' BizManager 3.1; nuBridges' truExchange EDI-INT 3.2; iSoft's Commerce Suite Server 3.4 (iSoft was bought last month by nuBridges); and Sterling Commerce's Gentran Integration Suite 4.1.1.
