Heartland Bank Selects Outsourced i/OS Offering from Jack Henry

Published: June 29, 2010

by Alex Woodie

Heartland Community Bank, an Arkansas-based bank with more than $140 million in assets, will implement the SilverLake core banking package from Jack Henry & Associates as the basis for its operations. A Jack Henry partner will host the i/OS-based SilverLake package for Heartland, which will access the software over the Internet.

The decision to go with SilverLake was not a quick one for Heartland Community Bank, which provides business and consumer banking services from three branches in Arkansas. After considering SilverLake for a while, bank representatives contacted several SilverLake customers to see what they thought of the package.

"We got very, very positive feedback," Heartland chairman and CEO Clyde Henderson says in a press release. "After evaluating several technology platforms we were convinced that SilverLake is the right fit for our bank, and that Jack Henry provides the commitment to service and the financial stability we want in a technology partner."

Heartland elected to outsource the hosting of the SilverLake implementation to a Jack Henry partner, which will simplify day to day management for the bank. In addition to SilverLake, the bank implemented an array of add-on products from Jack Henry, including software to automate consumer and merchant deposits, teller visits, online banking, telephone voice response, and electronic statements. It also selected additional security, compliance, and content management solutions from the Missouri software vendor.
