A new Windows CE-based thin client was unveiled by BOSaNOVA last week. The RBT-320 weighs under a pound, consumes a minimum of electricity, and offers some features not found in other Windows CE-based devices, the Phoenix-based company says.
"We at BOSaNOVA pride ourselves on our ability to customize our thin clients to meet the needs of our customers," says Martin Pladgeman, president of BOSaNOVA. "As with all of our products, users will find the RBT-320 to have unique features not available in other thin client implementations."
Pladgeman is referring to the RBT-320's capability to switch between a PC-like desktop mode and the standard Windows-based terminal mode. "Typically CE-based thin clients support only full-screen applications, but the RBT-320 allows management of multiple browser windows within a single browser instance," according to company literature. "As a result, pop-up windows work as expected. This capability, alongside unique 5250 split screen support (a first for CE.NET implementations), provides users with more flexibility and increased productivity."
The RBT-320 comes equipped with an AMD Geode GX 533 processor, has four USB ports, support for wireless LANs, support for up to four TN5250e or TN3270e sessions, and a 122-key keyboard. Suggested manufacture's price is $395.
