SoftTree Offers Centralized Reporting of Database Access

SoftTree Technologies last week launched a new release of DB Audit Expert, a product that enables administrators, auditors, and security personnel to track and analyze any database activity, including database access and usage, data creation, change, or deletion. The product, which is currently at version 3.1, works across all major SQL databases, including DB2/400.
SoftTree has concentrated on the reporting aspects of the product with version 3.1. With this release, audit data from different database systems is normalized to a unified format to enable enterprise-wide alerting and reporting from a central repository, thereby reducing the time and resources required for database auditing, and also providing a single source of trusted audit data.
The Staten Island, New York, company says the new centralized repository approach will make it easier for users to bring heterogeneous databases into compliance with standards like Sarbanes-Oxley, GLBA, HIPAA, BASEL II, and The USA Patriot Act. "Our ability to normalize multiple database audit trails into a common format makes DB Audit really unique," says Dmitriy Evinshteyn, chief technical officer at SoftTree. "Any company using multiple database systems will benefit tremendously from DB Audit's ability to provide a summary view of all database activity in the enterprise."
The new release is available now at a cost of $329 per database server instance.
