Touchtone Enhances CRM System

Touchtone, the Southern California developer of i OS software, recently delivered a new release of its Wintouch eCRM system that features better customizability, support for geographical location information, and user interface enhancements, among other new features.

Wintouch CRM is a suite of RPG programs designed to help i OS, i5/OS, and OS/400 shops better manage customer service, sales, marketing, collections, and technical-support aspects of their businesses. The software, which Touchtone has been development for over a decade, gives users the choice of several different interfaces, including 5250, Web, Java, and mobile clients.

In May, Touchtone announced Wintouch version 7.0.0.7. While the numeration lends itself to a minor release, the upgrade brings several new features that should come in quite handy for some users.

For example, users can now add additional fields to the activity screen. Previously, users were stuck with what Touchtone gave them, namely a list of completed activities and a way to schedule new activities. But with this release, users can add additional fields to fit their needs.

Another new feature is the capability to generate the latitude and longitude of a customer based on its address and postal code. This feature could be used to generate a map of customer locations, which could be useful for sales or marketing purposes. At the moment, it's only available in North America.

Users can also now place all of their "one-click" reports in a single repository, eliminating the need to navigate to different screens. Users with administrator rights gain the capability to view all one-click reports of all users.

Several user interface enhancements have also been made with 7.0.0.7. For example, users can now place dividers in the toolbar between icons, which should make it easier to read. Another eye-saver arrives when viewing long drop-down lists. Instead of using arrows at the bottom of the lists to indicate there is more to read, Wintouch simply displays all of the contents in a single scrollable list.

Other enhancements make better use of the keyboard when entering dates (users no longer must use the mouse); make it easier to update attachments; turn all columns into sortable lists; and improves Wintouch's drill-down capabilities. For more information, visit www.touchtonecorp.com.
