iTera last week announced partnerships with three OS/400 ERP developers, including Varisty Logistics, Retalix, and HarrisData, that will expand the distribution network for its Echo2 line of disaster recovery and high availability products.
The partnership between iTera and Varsity Logistics, a developer of OS/400 shipping software based in San Francisco, shows that Varsity is serious about application resiliency, says Shannon Titus, Varsity's director of partner management. "Our customers want robust solutions from technology providers who know their industry and are committed to the System i platform. iTera exemplifies this," she says.
Retalix, a developer of enterprise software for food retailers and distributors, cites regulatory compliance as a big reason for the partnership with iTera. "With all of the food industry rules and regulations, having systems and business data available at all times is critical," says Victor Hamilton, president and CEO of Retalix, which is based in Israel. "Our partnership with iTera ensures high availability of the Retalix synchronized solution package."
HarrisData, a Brookfield, Wisconsin, developer of OS/400-based ERP software for midmarket customers, will also be selling Echo2 and other iTera offerings. "Our partnership adds significant strength to our applications allowing customers an easy choice for their ERP and high availability requirements," says Michael Mallen, an executive vice president with HarrisData.
iTera, of Salt Lake City, Utah, has other products in addition to the Echo2 high availability suite. Last week, the company launched Echo2 Vault, a disk-to-disk and continuous data protection (CDP) solution for OS/400 shops (see " iTera Unveils CDP Vaulting, Slashes HA Pricing".
