IdF in Reseller Deal with Dewpoint for Identity Management Software

Identity Forge (IdF), a developer of adapters that allow i OS and z/OS identity credentials to work in the wider LDAP and Windows world, has inked a deal with Dewpoint that will see the IT consultancy reselling the IdF adapters.

IdF sells two main products, including the IdF Gateway, which functions as a proxy server that translates LDAP protocol commands from identity management systems running on Windows, Unix, and Linux into i OS and mainframe commands, and the Advanced Adapter series, which provides native security connectivity for i OS, RACF, ACF2, and Top Secret security, including.

Together, the IdF products allow customers to manage their identity and access control systems from the system they prefer, whether its open systems identity management products from IBM, Microsoft, Oracle, or SAP, or the native identity management facilities included with mainframe or midrange systems.

As part of the deal announced earlier this month, Dewpoint will begin selling IdF's range of products. Dewpoint is a systems integrator and IT consultancy based in Lansing, Michigan, that sells a lot of Sun hardware and software, and does a bit of work in the identity management field, among other IT disciplines.

Regulatory compliance was a big driver of the IdF deal, says Brian Dumont, vice president of professional services for Dewpoint. "Identity Forge provides our clients with the ability to extend their mainframe and midrange systems with a standard's-based solution that addresses regulatory compliance requirements while decreasing administrative costs," Dumont says in a press release.
