European Clothing Distributor Implements Manhattan's WMS

Published: August 22, 2006

by Alex Woodie

Manhattan Associates recently announced that one of Europe's leading clothing distributors, the TNT Fashion Group, recently implemented its Warehouse Management solution to help one of its customers, shoe and clothing maker Fila, manage warehouse activities at a distribution center in the Dutch city of Roosendaal, which TNT runs exclusively for Fila.

The implementation of the OS/400-based WMS system in Roosendaal will streamline the delivery of goods from Fila's factories in Asia to the European market. Manhattan says the distribution center has 40,000 live picking areas, which enables it to move a large amount of goods quickly and efficiently. By integrating the WMS system with applications used by Fila's European subsidiaries, the TNT Fashion Group is able to gain a real-time view of Fila's stock, orders, and product transit status, which helps TNT achieve a 24-hour DC-to-delivery destination cycle time.

Terry Norman, logistics business development director of TNT Fashion Group, says he has faith that Manhattans' WMS will meet his company's needs. "The apparel market is a fast-changing industry, and we place a huge emphasis on continually developing innovative solutions to meet its requirements," he says. "This is our core business and we will be expanding these activities in the future."
