Segway Recalls iSeries, pSeries Products

Got an iSeries or a pSeries? If you have one of the Segway type, it's time to bring it in for servicing before it bucks you off and hurts you.
Last week, Segway announced a voluntary product recall for all of its Personal Transporters (PTs), including the rugged pSeries, the do-it-all iSeries, and the quick and nimble eSeries PTs. A glitch in the product's software can cause the scooters to suddenly kick into reverse, sending the riders flying off.
Users should contact Segway to get the software patch (integrity PTF?) as soon as possible. "The safety of our customers and our products is our top priority," says Jim Norrod, CEO of the New Hampshire company.
Segway, which launched its iSeries PT about four years ago, says the glitch does not affect the new x2, due for release later this month, nor the new i2, which is being shipped with the patch.
