System i PHP Drive Going Strong, Zend Says

The push to create a new generation of young PHP programmers and PHP-driven Web applications on the IBM System i is moving forward according to plan, according to Zend Technology, the company commercializing the open source scripting language and providing support and training services. NetManage Eases Web Development, Tightens Security

Users of iSeries and mainframe servers will find it easier to build Web interfaces to host applications thanks to a new wizard NetManage has included in its OnWeb development and integration software. OnWeb for iSeries version 7.2.4, announced two weeks ago, also sports a new Eclipse plug-in for Java development, as well a new "separation of duties" security model that puts a divider between development and run-time on the iSeries. Invenso Overhauls iSeries Integration Engine

Invenso unveiled an overhauled version of its core iSeries application and data integration engine at the recent COMMON conference in Miami Beach. With the delivery of XBintegrator version 4.0, the Belgian software company has delivered a single Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) product that comes with all of the basic technological plumbing customers need, although they must purchase add-on modules for specific tasks.
