Island Pacific Signs New Customers in U.S., U.K.

Island Pacific recently announced several new customers--including two British retail chains and one American retail chain--to software license deals for Island Pacific Planning, the core element of its suite of software for multi-channel retailers.
White Stuff, a British clothing retailer with 60 stores, will implement Island Pacific Planning to help it keep track of merchandise across all channels: retail, Web, mail order, and wholesale. The company plans to integrate Island Pacific Planning, which runs on System i servers, with its ERP system.
White Stuff realized it needed a more automated and centralized way of keeping track of its merchandise when it calculated that its old method, which relied on manual data entry and spreadsheets, took up an entire week each month, according to Venn Luscombe-Mahoney, head of IT at White Stuff.
"We started to look into planning systems some time ago, and have since followed a comprehensive due diligence process, which covered off areas including functionality, support, supplier experience, site visits, and price performance," Luscombe-Mahoney says.
The new Island Pacific software, which includes modules for Merchandise Planning, Store Planning, and Assortment Planning, should eliminate much of the manual data entry for White Stuff (whose motto is "lovely clothes for lovely people"), along with human errors that accompany manual data entry.
Island Pacific, which is an Irvine, California-based subsidiary of the Australian company 3Q Holdings, also announced two other new customers for Island Pacific Planning.
The customers include a North American retailer with over 400 stores and a United Kingdom based retailer with over 100 stores. Island Pacific did not disclose their names.
