Seagull Adds Language Support to BlueZone

Seagull Software has issued version 4.0 of BlueZone, a suite of terminal emulators for accessing OS/400, z/OS, and Unix hosts from Windows PCs or from a Web browser. Support for additional languages and a redesigned interface are hallmarks of this release.
BlueZone, which enables users to access hosts via 5250, 3270, VT, and Secure FTP protocols, is a key part of Seagull's service oriented architecture (SOA) strategy. Organizations that use BlueZone for their basic host access needs, as Seagull's thinking goes, are more likely to choose the vendor's LegaSuite modernization offerings when they're ready to modernize their host systems and business processes with Web services and other SOA technologies.
With BlueZone version 4, Seagull is now offering German, French, Dutch, and Japanese language versions. The company has also redesigned BlueZone to Windows XP standards, included a new Web-to-host wizard to simplify the configuration of a session while accessing a Web server.
Seagull claims users can save up to 83 percent of the cost of emulation licenses and maintenance when they replace competing emulators with BlueZone. "Our customers have achieved fantastic cost savings by switching from other emulators to Seagull Software's BlueZone solution," says Don Addington, CEO and president of the Atlanta company, adding that BlueZone "is being offered at less than half of competitors' prices."
Specific BlueZone pricing was not disclosed. For more information, go to www.seagullsw.com.
