Lakeview Boosts Data Replication from Oracle with New Release of MIMIX replicate1
Data replication between DB2/400 and the Oracle9i database should be must faster with the latest release of Lakeview Technology's MIMIX replicate1 data replication software. Last week the Chicago company announced MIMIX replicate1 Version 4.03, a new release that the company claims can capture data from Oracle9i by up to 450 percent faster than previous versions. "MIMIX replicate1 4.03 has several notable enhancements, but the most remarkable is the log-based change data capture technology for Oracle9i," says Bill Davis, MIMIX replicate1 product strategy director. The log-based change data capture improves the performance of user applications by removing the overhead of triggers used for replication and minimizing the amount of data transmitted, Davis says. Other enhancements with this release include support for table lookup and simple joins, automatic column mapping by ordinal value, and selective table copy and synchronization, the company says. MIMIX replicate1 Version 4.03 supports replication among DB2/400, DB2 UDB, DB2/MVS, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, Informix, and Sybase databases.

Hummingbird Launches Integration Tool for Content Manager
Toronto, Ontario, software developer Hummingbird last week launched Enterprise Content Integration, a new software product that aims to bridge the gap between information held in Hummingbird's flagship Enterprise 2004 content management applications and other outside sources. A range of applications can be built off the main Hummingbird Enterprise 2004 content management and workflow technology, such as contract management, business intelligence, compliant e-mail repositories, or geographic information systems. With Enterprise Content Integration, Hummingbird is seeking to help their users consolidate, migrate, centralize, and standardize their structured and unstructured data across their Hummingbird Enterprise applications, as well as data sources such as ERP and CRM applications. The new software can help users to merge and consolidate information from multiple document management libraries, and share data across all of the Hummingbird Enterprise components. By making business content traceable, secure, and auditable, companies can meet data availability and corporate governance requirements, the company says.
