InfoPrint Launches a Product for Automated Document Factories

Published: October 21, 2008

Companies concerned that their mailroom operations are not operating efficiently may want to check out the new Mailroom Integrity Solution unveiled by InfoPrint Solutions Company yesterday. The new offering draws on years of experience that IBM and Ricoh have in building some of the world's largest automated document factories, or ADFs, to create a shrink-wrapped product that can benefit even mid sized companies.

The term ADF was coined by Gartner in 1996 to describe the various activities that occur in the mailroom. The ADF discipline seeks to implement automation and control across the entire print-mail process, and encompasses six distinct stages, including: input; transformation and integrated output; delivery preparation; control and reporting; response management; and document design and content integration.

And, as luck would have it, these six stages of ADF correspond to the six modules of its new Mailroom Integrity Solution, which is based on the company's InfoPrint Process Director (IPPD) software. On top of this foundation are tools that include vendor-neutral inserter management, document-level control and tracking, and fully auditable reports that can confirm every document is mailed accurately, the company says.

Companies that fulfill the promises of ADF through InfoPrint Mailroom Integrity Solution will enjoy smoother and faster mailroom processes, the company says. It also solves everyday issues, such as mailpiece tracking, accuracy in printing and document integrity, automatic reprints, and accuracy in process management.

Enrico Parodi, senior vice president and general manager of the technology and solutions development division of InfoPrint, explains how the new Mailroom Integrity Solution capitalizes on many years of research and development in mailroom operations to provide ADF functionality to customers of all sizes.

"The more than 100 ADF installations we have completed have been custom built, large scale business transformations for major enterprises like AIG," Parodi says. "Now with our launch of our Mailroom Integrity Solution, we can deliver the ADF values of process automation and total integrity to printers and mailers across the board in a standard product offering."

The Mailroom Integrity Solution is available now. Pricing was not provided. For more information, visit www.infoprint.com.
