EVault, a provider of network-based backup solutions for iSeries and other types of servers, last week announced a new release of its InfoStage software that should help users maximize their network performance. It also introduced a new reporting tool to complements its dashboard.
The new InfoStage software--which runs on OS/400, Windows, Linux, Solaris, HP-UX, AIX, and NetWare servers or SQL Server, Exchange, DB2, or Oracle databases--comes with new "server agents" that allow users to perform bandwidth throttling that lets them maximize network performance. The server-side offering also introduced new file filtering and searching capabilities that let users perform restorations from multiple points in time, EVault says.
The Emeryville, California, company also launched a new release of EVault Reports, a real-time, Web-based offering that provides a "dashboard" into backup activities. EVault says its Reports offering has been enhanced with new filtering features, new output options, new customization options, and the capability to automatically schedule and distribute reports in HTML or PDF via e-mail.
