Retalix Launches Master Data Repository for Food and Beverage Industry

Supply chain software developer Retalix recently announced the general availability of Retalix InSync Master Data Management solution (MDM), a software product designed to act as a central repository for all the master data used in the planning and execution of business processes in the retail and distribution industries. The software was written in Java and runs on all major platforms, including OS/400.
Getting a "single version of the truth" can be difficult when planning and execution applications span various systems and platforms. One solution to the problem is to pick one database to serve as a repository, and to stick with it. According to Retalix, its new InSync MDM makes an ideal central repository, and is flexible enough to work with all current applications a company might need, as well as any it might install in the future.
"Integration and synchronization of data across the enterprise has always been a major challenge for retailers and distributors," said Barry Shaked, president and CEO of Retalix, which has it's corporate headquarters in Ra'anana, Israel, and its U.S. headquarters in Plano, Texas. "Using Retalix InSync MDM, all the applications share the same database, same data management logic and same look-and-feel."
Retalix says InSync MDM will work with all types of supply chains, although it was mostly designed for retailers and distributors in the grocery and foodservice industries. This was the primary market served by Integrated Distribution Solutions (IDS), the Omaha, Nebraska-based developer of OS/400 ERP software that Retalix acquired in April for $44.4 million.
This article has been corrected. Retalix is headquartered Ra'anana, Israel, and Plano, Texas, not Irvine, California. IT Jungle regrets the error.
