Teamstudio Debuts Usage Monitor for Lotus Notes

Lotus Notes software utility developer Teamstudio last week unveiled a new product called Teamstudio Usage Monitor that helps large organizations track exactly how their Lotus Notes applications are being used, to help them prepare for an audit.
Teamstudio president, Ian Smith, says compliance regulations continue to heavily impact IT groups. "The level of detail often required by the regulations within Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), HIPAA, and ISO is not easily obtained using native Lotus Notes functionality, which increases an organization's risk of failing a compliance audit," he says.
Teamstudio's solution to this problem is Usage Monitor, a server-based Domino application. With Usage Monitor running, administrators can find out, with a high level of detail, exactly who is using what application, or group of applications, and what parts of each application are being used. The activity of individual users is tracked as they read, update, or delete documents, the company says.
Mark Collison, vice president of Teamstudio's consulting business, highlighted several important aspects of the new product. "Teamstudio Usage Monitor meets the requirements of an ideal system for managing application and data usage because it keeps detailed audit trails, it is configurable, and not reliant on other system settings."
