The Brotherhood Mutual Insurance Company of Fort Wayne, Indiana, will implement Original Software's complete range of OS/400 test automation solutions as it seeks to improve its software quality and comply with new regulations, the software vendor announced yesterday.
The Brotherhood Mutual is one of the nation's biggest providers of property and casualty insurance to churches and ministries, with more than 30,000 church and ministry customers nationwide. The company is represented by more than 500 independent agent representatives, and employs 220 people at its corporate offices in Fort Wayne.
The company plans to use the full complement of Original tools, including TestBench, TestDrive, TestSmart, and TestPlan, to implement an automated software quality program in preparation for a "major software migration" from an unidentified back office application to a new Web portal application.
"Automated testing drastically reduces time spent on labor-intensive manual testing, resulting in more reliable services to our customers," said Daryl Pannabecker, the company's vice president of IT. "The insurance industry is built around trust. By improving our internal software testing practices, we'll be able to reduce software glitches and continue to build that trust with our customers."
