JDE Alliance Formed by Six Independent Vendors

Corrected: November 11, 2010

by Alex Woodie

Six vendors that develop products to extend and enhance JD Edwards World and EnterpriseOne ERP environments have banded together and created a new group called the JDE Alliance to boost their marketing and sales activities, the new group announced last week.

The six founding member of the newly formed JDE Alliance and their specialties include:

The vendors decided to form the JDE Alliance to increase their visibility and differentiate themselves from competitors, according to Bob Kearney, vice president of sales and marketing at IIS, which is based in Perrysburg, Ohio.

"It's an alliance of companies that are and have been for some time very active in the JD Edwards space," Kearney tells IT Jungle. "For years we've been bumping into one another and sharing leads with customer contacts in an informal way, and we decided to formalize that a bit and create something of a critical mass that says, 'Here's six companies you can trust who have excellent third-party products for JD Edwards.'"

With the exception of Richard Dolewski's WTS, the focus of the JDE Alliance is on products, not services. The alliance is not open for new members at this time, although it may open it up in the future, Kearney says.

All members are well-versed in both World and EnterpriseOne systems, and their products work equally well whether the JDE software is running on IBM i or another operating system, Kearney says. Most of the members' products are certified by Oracle, but the JDE Alliance provides another mark of credibility to prospective customers.

"We're excited about it," Kearney says. "It gives each of the individual members the opportunity to get in front of more people. It gives the JD Edwards-using community relatively simple access to a trusted set of experienced third-party vendors."

The group is planning to hold several "lunch and learn" events in the near future, including Minneapolis/St. Paul on November 10, Kansas City on November 16, and St. Louis on November 17.

For more info, see the group's website at www.jdealliance.com.
