Two System i Log Management Webinars Scheduled for Tomorrow

Published: November 11, 2008

Partners PowerTech and LogRhythm are teaming up this Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. ET to offer two free Webinars on System i log management for financial institutions.

The IBM i operating system possesses a mature and comprehensive log management capability that exceeds the functions of many of its peer OSes. Unfortunately, it speaks a different language than most other platforms, requiring a bit of work to integrate it with the rest of the network.

For many shops, this integration is achieved with a cross platform security information event management (SEIM) platform, which captures and normalizes logs from a variety of different systems. Properly implementing one of these systems can be the difference between finding violations of security policy, or letting the fraud continue.

System i security vendor PowerTech has partnered with LogRhythm to deliver an integrated log management system, and the companies will speak about their experiences integrating System i into a broader SEIM system during tomorrow's Webinar.

Hosting the shows will be John Earl, chief technical officer (CTO) and vice president at PowerTech, and Chris Petersen, founder and CTO of LogRhythm. Two one-hour Webinars will be presented, one at 10:30 a.m. ET and another at 1:30 p.m. ET. Interested parties can register for the event at www.cuinfosecurity.com/webinarsDetails.php?webinarID=109&tab=4.
