DSI Data Collection Software Validated for EnterpriseOne 9.0

Published: November 17, 2009

by Alex Woodie

Companies that rely on JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 9.0 to run their warehouses and factory floors can take advantage of the latest data collection software from Data Systems International as the result of a validated integration between DSI's dcLINK and the Oracle ERP system, the vendor announced last week.

dcLINK serves as a communication hub connecting data collection devices, such as barcode scanners and RFID sensors, and ERP systems. The software, which is commonly deployed on Windows servers utilizing Oracle or SQL Server databases, ensures that real-time connections are maintained, which is especially important in large-scale implementations involving thousands of potentially finicky mobile devices.

The software also insulates companies against downtime by allowing data collection activities to continue, even in the event that the primary ERP system is down or inaccessible due to network outages.

Ensuring conformity to ERP vendors' data formats is another useful feature provided by dcLINK. DSI works with many ERP vendors to gain certification for its products, including Infor (BPCS), Lawson Software (M3-Movex), and SAP. The software is also validated for Oracle's PeopleSoft Enterprise, E-Business Suite, and JD Edwards World A9.1.
