Beyond Security Launches Multi-Level Scanning Tool

Beyond Security recently launched a multilevel scanning solution that simulates hacker attacks to hunt down security vulnerabilities existing in all types of gear throughout the data center. Called the Automated Vulnerability Detection System (AVDS), the appliance-based "fuzzing" solution builds on the company's previously released network scanning tool by introducing additional vulnerability scans for specific operating systems (including i5/OS), databases, and applications, as well as checking for known vulnerabilities tracked by the company's SecuriTeam research affiliate. IBM Director 5.2 Brings Updates for i5/OS, Other Platforms

IBM recently announced an update to IBM Director, a series of entry-level systems management tools for monitoring and controlling a range of IBM and non-IBM server platforms, including i5/OS, z/OS, Windows, Linux, and Unix. With IBM Director version 5.2, IBM is introducing several i5/OS-related features, such as support for iSCSI BladeCenter attachments and cross-partition data collection services, as well as a number of enhancements for other platforms.
