Chrono-Logic Simplifies LANSA Deployment

Chrono-Logic last week unveiled a new version of iAM for End Users, an application lifecycle management (ALM) tool used in Visual LANSA environments. With version 3, the new product simplifies large deployments of client-server applications developed with LANSA's development tools.

iAM for End Users was created to automate the task of distributing client-side Visual LANSA code to Windows workstations. Every time a user logs in, iAM for End Users checks for updates to Windows objects and DLLs, and automatically installs them if there are any. The software is used in conjunction with two other Chrono-Logic products, including iAM for Visual LANSA, which packages the components for update, and iAM for Development, which tracks code and changes.

With iAM for End Users 3.0, Chrono-Logic has added support for automatically deploying Visual LANSA enhanced program changes (EPCs) to client workstations. This feature will make it easier to deploy code in large environments.

"Deploying Visual LANSA client packages to 100, 500, or 1,000 end users is now greatly simplified, and iAM automation eliminates tedious manual steps and costly errors," says Ghislain Jacques, vice president of product development for Chrono-Logic, which is based near Montreal, Quebec.

Chrono-Logic has a special affinity for LANSA tools and environments, but its software can also be used to streamline the deployment of RPG, COBOL, and Java applications. For more information, see www.chrono-logic.com.
