More Qshell Output in ASCII

Hey, Ted:

I'm writing in reference to your article, "Wanted: Qshell Output in ASCII," Midrange Guru, OS/400 Edition. Isn't the conversion issue more properly handled by the share configuration?

In order to see the Integrated File System (IFS) from a PC, isn't it true that a file share has to be created in Operations Navigator? The Text Conversion tab of the share properties provides a way to specify which files should be automatically converted.

This is how I handle the problem.

Odds and Ends

Dear Readers:

Response to the first Odds and Ends column was overwhelmingly positive, so I am going to continue this feature.

In each Odds and Ends edition, I will feature answers to questions that, in my opinion, aren't worth featuring as Midrange Guru tips by themselves.

I just saw your answer to Alex about Remote Software. Because I am from Denmark, I feel I must draw your attention to a software product called NetOp.
