Enter the Vector, Victor!
Hey, Howard:
I have a few questions and I hope that you would help me
clear my doubts. In what situations do you add an Encoded
Vector Index (EVI) to a table on AS/400? What are the
advantages of adding an EVI to a table? I checked IBM manuals but I
was not able to interpret it clearly. Could you throw some
light on this matter?

that was slow and always busy. The new system is fast and
quite bored. The $40K purchase price far outweighs the
maintenance costs of the old machine.
